Sailing Nahoa
Canada
Приєднався 13 чер 2012
What started as a sabbatical to sail the world has evolved into a lifelong adventure. Having completed our first circumnavigation, we're now in the midst of designing and building our next vessel, the Nahoa 55, for the next laps around the world as we raise our family aboard.

Studying the flora and fauna is the equivalent of a cultural attachée. Military stuff
Sorry man. Get back on the horse soon.
I was there in 1974, hasn’t changed much except for building and electronic equipment.
What's the bet they use the Island for Government Sponsored Drug Trafficking
First time encounter to your channel looking forw!rd to following your adventures.
Imagine being a child and being introduced to life this way!😮….
I spent 5 years at the Rock as a diving expedition ship captain. We used to call it Mordor like from Lord of the Rings. Weather get wild there sometimes.
dont you have weather forcasting? this is 2024, you can see a storm coming 2 days away. how anyone gets "caught" in a storm to me is tantamount to parking your car on railroad tracks.
Интерес6ая пара для путешествий . Бабушка , внук и чьи то маленькие дети . Внука ? Или чьи ?
wow thanks for sharing locations like that awesome !!
Good luck guys i don't blame you for not going for a Snorkel
Man that tuna looked good. I love that the kids are so involved. I only have a sample size of two of them, but agree with your assessment.
Hi guys , just came across your channel recently and absolutely loving it, thankyou.. watching from N.Ireland , what a beautiful experience you are all having , safe travels ❤🇮🇪
you guys rock!
Mahi Mahi, that was so adorable! Just like my grandchild with her binky in her mouth 24/7.
Hi just watched your latest update video I have a fix on you at sothside of Makemo on my marine traffic app
😀😀👍👍❤❤
Love you guys! I'm with Ashley. We may not be on the menu for large sharks, but if they get curious and take a nibble they can cause a lot of damage. Better to not risk it. Safe travels. ❤
following many years...love your videos...and the life lessons you learn and teach. cheers
My dock mate Gary was telling me how he trolls on his dedicated fishing cruiser. When he mentioned the 300 lb tuna he caught last year... I asked. How can you limit the size of fish you catch? He gave me a funny look, "You can't. That's up to the fish." I'd hate to fatally injure a 300 lb tuna I wouldn't be able to haul on board, or know what to do with all that meat. I learned from Ben, to get softer hooks that'll bend if what's ever on the line is too big. Definitely want to do that. The other issue, especially with apex predators like tuna, is the bigger and older they are, the more fish they've consumed, the greater the concentration of mercury and other toxins. So a good plan for frequent fish consumption is to seek smaller fish. And smaller lures.
I don’t understand the thumbnail. I feel it was a bit of a click bait. I absolutely love you guys and I hope you don’t get in the habit of using click bait, you’re above that. ❤
nice to offer beer, I would do that too.... Everybody like such guesture 😁
Any news about the plan regarding a new catamaran? God reise!
Just saying....you guys got some major BALLS!!! Lol😅 That is exactly why I've been following you for years. That island just looks like Dr Evils secret lair. Thank you so much for sharing your lives. Be safe ❤
wow what an awesome lifestyle😮
Definitely not helicopter parents, thank god !
where are dolphins, there are no sharks, at least I never saw them together
🌬⛵️🌏👙🤿🐚🏖📸🥽🌴🐬🦈🐠☀️
very cool interaction with the national park guys!
keep it up
Enjoying some of your videos. I looked up the cost of Starlink for marine use and am SHOCKED at the cost...... are you really paying that much?
Go you Canucks. Top show. Aussies love ya
Nice start to the Pacific crossing. Interesting rock and a very helpful greeting "committee". Keep safe.
Awesome stuff love your videos
And yes... there are "big" sharks... Silkies are small, however they do school at Malpelo. The big sharks include the occasional Tiger, large Galapagos sharks, and a few other types... the silkies and the Galapagos are the "curious" ones...
wouldn't be surprising if those are special buildings for cooking stuff, you're in Colombia after all.
Love, love, love these out of the way area's, there is such a feeling of mystery and a feeling of being somewhere where it might not be ok to be, but then here comes the park ranger dude in his boat to say welcome, yes, you can snorkel but watch out for the big sharks and as you mention that, here comes the supersized dolphins. Yes, everything's bigger in Malpelo!!! Thank you so much for taking us along for the ride!
ua-cam.com/video/P_9_ZDpazd4/v-deo.htmlsi=g04Zzd6x2EXWEPZY When you started saying circumnavigation multiple times it brought the horror of this video back in my mind
That was nice that you offered him a beer
Thank you for sharing your adventure and lives
Congratulations on reaching 400K and still counting!
Beautiful video. Learned alot -thanks Nahoa family! 👍
Malpelo has some of the very best diving in the Pacific. Along with Cocos and the Galapagos this is part of a superhighway traveled by large schools of scalloped hammerheads...
Just checked some diving videos about Malpelo Island... looks incredible. You really visited a gem there
Epic.
I find it difficult to believe you don't have enough provisions on board where you need to kill animals of the sea in order to survive, and then teach your children how to allow them to suffer needlessly by not dispatching them as quickly, and humanely as possible. Contrary to your statement, your videos clearly show you do not practice this, or do it properly to achieve this. I believe most would agree it is ethically and morally wrong to kill wildlife when it is unnecessary, and especially teach children it is acceptable when unnecessary. This is certainly not the first time I've witnessed this on your videos. At 10:10 you stated, "The more you see meat processed, the less appetite you have for it." I agree with your statement absolutely. The same can very much be said by witnessing how all animals are killed for food, whether it be from the sea, or land. "The more you see meat processed, the less appetite you have for it." I have been a subscribed for quite a while, but I must say, this is a real turn-off for this channel for many.
@RodRuth watch almost ANY sailing channel. About 95% of them catch and eat fish. Ya wanna rail at something/someone? Call out the Chinese who kill MILLIONS of sharks every year JUST for their fins to make shark fin soup! The rest is dumped back in the ocean. A few thousand cruisers taking a few fish is nothing. You have a totally misguided sense of outrage. Go learn something!
Possibly one of your best episodes (I've seen them all). Your dialogue about harvesting the fish with your tiny tots was a bit odd at first, and then I got it. My wife actually said...."Canadians Rock!". A lot of honesty and shy on the BS.
Your content is genuinely heartfelt and thought-provoking, always leaving me with a smile on my face. I admire how you blend humor with insightful narratives in your videos. And I am floating village life
Love your journey. such pros!!
How cool is that? Chatting with the national park people. Seeing the rock, catching dinner. You are great ambassadors.
